Anna nodded slowly, absorbing his words. “I appreciate that. There are so many loose ends, and honestly, I’m trying to piece together where she can be. Even the smallest detail might help. And if you don’t mind me asking, Officer Russo, why are you here today?”
Russo glanced at David before answering. “I’m here to tell him—to encourage him—to go on television. The public might help us find his wife, Amelia. Sometimes, when the police hit a dead end, turning to the community is the best way forward.”
David nodded slowly, his eyes distant. “I’ve been hesitant… afraid of what might come up if I put this out there again. But maybe it’s time.”
Anna looked at him with quiet resolve. “If there’s any chance it could bring her home, it’s worth trying.”
Russo cleared his throat. “It won’t be easy. The case was tangled with secrets, and the people involved… they don’t like being reminded. But we’ll support you every step of the way.”
David sighed but nodded in agreement eventually. “Alright. If this is the way forward, then I’m with you.”
Anna hesitated for a moment before speaking. “That's great, hope the community can help. And David, I’m thinking of visiting Evermoon myself — to see the villa, maybe find something that was missed.”
David looked at Officer Russo, then back at Anna, surprised. “If you’re going, you should have someone with you. For your safety.”
Russo gave a small, knowing smile. “I’ll go with her. Honestly, I’ve wanted to visit that place for a long time. This might be the chance.”
They wrapped up their conversation and packed their things. By early afternoon, Anna, and Officer Russo set out toward Evermoon. The drive was quiet, the tension thick in the air as each lost themselves in thought.
