Marco took a sip of his drink and began, “I went to Mr. Conti’s place, and it turns out Alessandro arrived late that night. The event started at 11 pm and ended at 2 am, but according to his parking record, he didn’t arrive until 12 and left at 2.”
He raised an eyebrow. “I remember him saying he got there at 11. So where was he from 11 to midnight?”
James frowned, tapping his fingers on the table. “That’s really important. I think we need to ask Alessandro some questions again.”
Marco shook his head with a smirk. “No need. I found more information.”
He leaned in closer. “After visiting Mr. Conti, I led a team to search his car. And guess what I found — a rope in the rear area. The marks on that rope match the bruises on Vittoria’s neck.”
James’s eyes widened. “So it’s certain he’s the murderer. Alessandro killed Vittoria.”
Alice’s eyes lit up. “Wow, that’s a breakthrough! And I’m guessing Leonardo was in her room when Alessandro tried to kill her, and Alessandro was forced to kill him?”
Marco nodded grimly. “Yes, that’s what I was suspecting too. Remember the love letter from Vittoria? I think she might have been having an affair with Leonardo. Alessandro must have found out — maybe even caught them — and got furious. That’s why he killed them both.”
