Francesca stepped in. “That’s Enzo’s. He’s Ms. Mancini’s chauffer.”
“Enzo?” James repeated, already making a note. “Was he here that morning?”
She said, “No… he wasn’t supposed to be here. At least, not that we were aware of. As far as I know, he only comes when Ms. Mancini calls him for a ride.”
James’s pen hovered above his notepad. “Have you seen him recently?”
“Yes… just once. He came by two days ago.” She answered quickly.
Paolo nodded. “He dropped off a suitcase. Said Ms. Mancini left it on his car.”
James’s brows rose. “Did you check what was inside?”
Francesca nodded. “Yeah… we opened it, in front of Mr. Mancini.”
Paolo chimed in, “There were some of her clothes, a toothbrush, a few masks, towels, some files, documents for Le Fenice, and a bottle of her perfume. Just personal stuff, mostly."
Francesca added, “Mr. Mancini looked through it and said she was probably planning to visit a few places. Maybe even travel somewhere. He didn’t seem too surprised by it.”
James scribbled the list down. “Interesting,” he murmured. “Planning to travel somewhere… but left her bag in the car and didn’t even realize. When did this happen? Do you know when Enzo last drove Ms. Mancini?”
Francesca glanced at Paolo, then shook her head. “We’re not too sure, honestly.”
Paolo looked at James, “Yeah, you’d probably need to talk to Enzo directly. He’d know better.”
James nodded. “Thank you,” he said, pulling out his notebook again. “Could you also give me Enzo’s address?”
Francesca scribbled it down on a slip of paper and handed it to him.
